Last Few Weeks Here!

I don't want to think that my time down here in Disney will be coming to the end soon.

I have been working non-stop and have been only receiving one day off these last few weeks. Today, was my day off this week. I went to blizzard beach with my amazing coworkers. It was a lot of fun and good way to spend my day off. Blizzard Beach for all of you who don't know anything about it, is a water park.

My graduation for my program is coming. Its on April 29 and when I graduate I receive at mickey hat with tassels and much more. I am very excited and will feel very accomplished when this happens.

I really want to come back to Disney and do the alumni program. All college program students can take part in this alumni program. The alumni program is for students who graduated and completed the college program. I want to apply for this during the summer of my senior year. I almost considered extending my program until August or longer but I knew I had to get back to finish school and catch up on everything.

This week the Boardwalk is very slow. We don't have many guests coming into any of the shops. I hate it when this happens because it makes my nights and days boring. I like to keep myself busy and being slow surprised me because just last week we were slammed with lots of guests. The ice cream shop (Seashore Sweets) had a line out the door for almost two hours. In the beginning I found it to be stressful when we were busy and had lines but now I feel excited. I realized that the guests are used to waiting in lines because they are in Disney World. The night that the line was out the door for at least two hours I was working. We had to make icecream runs many times and had the manager getting items for us. All of us managed to work as a team and get through the night with no problem.

The other day I had made a magical moment for a guest. It was the guests daughters sweet sixteen when she went home the next day. She asked me if we sold any birthday merchandise. I knew we had some but nothing a sixteen year old teenager girl would like. So I told the guest that I could give her a birthday pin for her daughter. I had her write down her daughters name on a piece of paper then went I into the back stage, got a pin and then wrote her daughters name on it in pretty decorative letters. The guest was very happy and appreciated it very much. As I was doing this my manager noticed and said good job on making a magicial moment. I was happy that he noticed.

One last thing, I had lost my name tag for at least two weeks. For awhile, I was Nancy from Florida and Melissa from Davis, Ohio. I hated not having my name tag because I always had guests telling me I from here and where exactly is Davis, Ohio. Sometimes I would just tell the guest I lost my name tag and that I was not familiar with the area. I have my original name tag back for this week. I'm so very happy! I actually had the people change it a little. I had them write on it that I went to Fisher College, MA.

Well thats it for now. Hopefully you all enjoy reading this blog and I will blog again soon!

Being Deployed

I very lucky because I have not been deployed yet. But four coworkers of mine have been deployed to other resorts. Being deployed means getting sent to another resort to work in a merchandise shop for a week or more and then being sent back to your original location. My Australian coworkers were deployed to the Contemporary Resort for a week. Now two more are deployed there. Usually, college program people are deployed to these places because they are short staffed. It is really wierd how they choose the cp's to be deployed. Honestly, I dont understand it and dont want it to happen to me.
